Motion Control – Yaw Pitch and Roll Stage

Van Nuys, CA – Motion Control – New compact three-axis, Yaw, Pitch, and Roll Stages from OES (Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc.) feature four motor options to meet the precision and speed of travel requirements of an application. The YPR-10-15-60 Series of Three-axis Yaw, Pitch, and Roll Stages are the integration of a 60 mm diameter rotary stage (upper axis) capable of 360 degrees of continuous operation, and two goniometers (middle and lower axes). The middle stage has a range of +/- 15 degrees and the lower stage has a +/- 10 degrees range.

Motion Control – Application – Searching for “Dark Energy”!

Motion control – Application- The HETDEX project is the first major attempt to find “dark energy” in the universe. With special spectrographs, the three-dimensional positions of one million galaxies are recorded. In the summer of 2012, the Hobby-Eberly Telescope started scanning the universe – aided by maxon motors every step of the way.

Taunton, MA — Motion Control – Application – The Hobby-Eberly Telescope (HET) is located at the McDonald Observatory in West Texas. Its spherical primary mirror consists of 91 identical hexagonal segments, each one meter in size. Together, these individual mirror segments form a mirror with a diameter of almost 11 m, which makes it the largest in the world. The effective aperture of the primary mirror currently amounts to 9.2 m at an opening angle of four arc minutes*.

Van Nuys, CA — Motion Control – Moticont has added a new 1.25 in (31.8 mm) stroke linear DC motor to its series of LVCM Linear Voice Coil Motors. The new LVCM-051-051-06 Linear Voice Coil Motor has been designed with a larger radial air gap to tolerate the tilting and misalignment that can be experienced when clamping out of parallel objects or moving off-center loads. This compact linear motor is 2.000 in (50.8 mm) in dia. with a 2.00 in. (50.8 mm) long housing and at mid stroke is just 2.88 in. (73.0 mm).  Peak force is 9.5 lb (42.2N) at a 10% duty cycle and continuous force is 3.0 lb (13.3 N). Features of this low inertia, high acceleration / deceleration, clean, efficient, zero cogging, brushless voice coil servo motor makes it ideal for: Sorting, packaging, sampling, work holding and clamping, laser machining and drilling, wafer handling, and medical and pharmaceutical applications.
